12-04-2010 Galveston Flounder Fishing

Dec. 4,2010 had the pleasure on saturday of going out with in my op the 2 best guides on Galveston Bay Capt. Jaime and my hubby Capt. Bill.I learned alot on this trip for instance how to hold my rod correctly and the different technique's of throwing.We used live bait and fished high and low tide I couldn't tell the differrance really on which was better. We had a beautiful windy day on Galveston bay our catch consisted of speckled trout, some huge flounder biggest three went 24",26" and 28", I did catch about 20 sandies and 2 slot reds. It was so much fun.We saw alot of boats out but, i personally only saw a few actually come in with fish I did so I didn't worry to much for those. :-) Give us a call and set up a trip with Jaime or Captain Bill Both equally good captains so I had just did catch bill so no head .

Dec 03,2010 Hello All Lynn here today was a bang up day for bay fishing everywhere u turned u saw boats. Capt. Bill had 2 trips today first trip was a 1 person trip on the hydro-sport this trip left dock very early around 6:00am had had a limit of flounder some big ones by 8:00am so they played around he added a bunch of sand trout to his time out with captain bill. after cleaning up Bill got home and I mentioned how i wanted to go and off back to galveston lowered the boat bought more bait and off we went I had a limit of 5 flounder from 24" -14.25" in a lil over 1.2 hrs. I had a blast I did have one break off my lil 10 lb line at the water that had barnacles on it amazing he was huge but, today was his lucky day and my light tackled couldn't handle him but, everyone around me heard about it hahaha. Bill didn't take pics of his morn charter but, you bet ya I got pics. Guess red is my lucky flounder color. Can you say the flounder are ON !

Nov.17-18,2010 Had the pleasure of taking my wife fishing wed night till 3:23am she loaded up the sand trout for sure, Special gift for her daddy who unfortunatly doesn't get to fish anymore(health) caught a bunch of flounder had 2 come to the top and let go I am trying to teach her flounder is a funny fish to fish for and really have to play with them they are a ambush fish it is not just dropping bait and fish on you have to play with your bait not jerking action, Flounder can be very difficult when u are learning but, her 4th she ws ready to throw her rod at them hahaha it was comical . Just have to be paitent. But, she did good everyone has been wanting to see her catch's more than mine. I guess beccause she is a regular person not a guide or captain but, i gotta hand it to her she knows her stuff if she were to ever get her license she could show some of us how to talk to people. Yea I got me a country girl but, smart as a whip when it comes to fishing. So here she is now My wife Lynn. This is one fishing lady even sick she was ready to go. baits her own hook,takes off her own fish with my helpful pliers and even fillets her own all by herself. Her and I have been married for 17 yrs, this dec, 25th and we work tgether very well. She is one work aholic but, she is at last My fishing lady. So for the flounder she said she is after you so beware ! no flounder this trip but a good time for sure.

Nov 13,2010 had a offshore 50 mile trip it was rough 25+ knt winds but, had a great bunch of men onboard made it out long enough for red snapper and ended back at the jetties for some bullreds,sand trout. Thanks big jim you guys handled it like the pro's.

To start today is my Birthday so cudo's to me. Yup I am a halloween baby a honest goblin as Lynn calls me. Ran a Night trip last night actually a 2 boat trip me on the donzi and Capt. Jaime Cantu took out some of my regulars we split the boats and I had all women and he had the 4 guys. We made it a mini tournament. This was classic Traci and her group awsome as always out fished the men it was a close call But, Traci and her ladies brought in the most we did have some breeze blowing last night which I believe was the factor for the trout not showing up no bait in the water either. So everyone managed their bullreds and gafttop they actually filled the coolers they had brought which is a good sign of a good trip. Thank you again Traci what a way to spend my birthday with a bunch of great fisherman and women enjoyed it more than you know and thanks so much for the birthday loud sing along.Everyone take care and go check out Traci's video on my video page. Had a great trip today it was a generation trip Father and son and grandfather.Wind was blowing around 20knts + but, This donzi takes it so well.The fish were there but, we only saw 1 boat out on our way to where we were going so we were all along.Sorry to the guy who lost his rabollo looks like it hits the rocks got a photo of it overturned and had a big hole in the side.Todays catch limits were bullreds and gafttop. Capt. Bill Curry 35' donzi and 23' hydrosport - don't forget flounder are about to start running and the sand trout is producing nicely right now.
