1-22-2011 & 1-24-2011 Galveston Fishing Reports

Jan 22 & 23,2011 Had Lynn out fishing and she slammed them all sand trout using dead shrimp. The bite was on from 5:30pm-10:30pm then as the tide turned and went out the bait disappeared and so did the fish. But, she ended with 14 sand trout. Will have pictures later today when I clean them. We are still waiting on the specks to roll in soon so it is a sit and wait game.Sorry the lightening was off in the kitchen. Gotta love my sand trout ! No limits Biggest went 1.25 lbs. Looks 3 to me bill says it was a 1 1/2 lbs. But, I got 5 this size and fought it on 10 lb. test now thats fun

Jan 15,2011 Finally after going by some hunch's I have found the fish guess with the cold weather settling in everything in the bay has been groggy for awhile. Everyone is exspecting the speckled trout bite to turn on anytime within the next 2 weeks.
Anyhow back to my report fishing live and dead bait we got hooked in to the bullreds and whitting all out in rougher waters this time of year onboard the donzi we headed outside the jetties ( statewaters) and decided on some beachfront fishing seems the bullreds are comming in to feed heavily and then head back out. We landed some nice fish their biggest went to 38". between what was caught we were able to fill a 25qt cooler with fillets.With the slow bit our half days are now 6 hrs.
Jan 16,2011 Ran a 4 hr bay trip today while we had takers it was hard fishing raining in the faternoon and very cold early morning but, the fish were there mostly sandtrout but, enough to make everyone happy keep the 2 boys busy. Fished Offats Bayou area. The bite was pretty slow. But, was a very good trip.

1-13-2011 Galveston Fishing Charters

Jan 13,2011 This mornings trip was decided at dock by customers no going out this morning wind was blowing a good 20 knts they had another week down here so we will try it again on tuesday. It was around 34 degree's this morning at dock man it was cold !

Jan 14,2011 Took a man and his 3 kids out today.Fished I know 6-7 area's that normally hold fish and nothing not even a bite. Stayed and tried all day and still couldn't buy a bite. We tried live shrimp,mullet,

1-04-2011 Galveston Fishing Reports

Jan 4,2011 Well we didn't get out and bang'em but, we managed a few for the fryer. Got a 6 person limit of tagged bull-reds,30 sandtrout and 2 specks , 5 sheephead off the rocks,I believe it was a decent catch not best but, decent.

Jan 5,2011 Had a flower Garden trip that turned into a Jetty trip real fast because they had 1 day left of their winter vacation so we head back to the jetties while rough it wasn't bad got a limit of Bullreds all tagged, and 1 blackdrum released.

Jan 1,2011 Well Happy new to Everyone.It's a New year and a New Day and going to be a great fishing year ! Have several trips already on the book to run Thanks to everyone on waiting on thier trips till the new permits come in.

Jan. 3,2011 We have been catching flounder and sandtrout since November and while the run is over for the Huge flounder a few straglers are still around. Bay waters have started to cool down pretty fast outside temps have been up and down around 73-65 with lots of talk of fronts in and out . The blackdrum have started to slowly come around catching a few here and there bullreds are still plenty at the jetties.I have a night fishing trip tonight at the jetties but, honestly I think the hard trout bite has gone till May. Now these are definitly fish fry trips during the warmer months.
